Tom Steeby graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Special Education and received his Masters Degree from Michigan State University. He first taught in Hawaii for one year on the island of Molokai. Tom came back to Michigan and began teaching in Royal Oak. Students at Keller Jr. High, Dondero, Churchill and Longfellow benefited from his skill and dedication. He is married to Penny whom he met while they were both student teaching in the Ypsilanti area. They have two children, Dan and Laura, and two grandchildren, Emily and Olivia. Tom loves hunting and fishing and peaceful time spent at his cabin in the Manistee forest.
