2005 ROEA FAMILY MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Jim graduated from Troy High School and will attend the University of Michigan. He participated in the National Honor Society, Student Government, Peer Mediation, basketball, track and football. He was a quarterback and captain of the football team. He plans to study pre-law to become a sports agent or education so that he can become a coach. His mother is Noreen Chapin, a teacher at Whittier. Laura graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak. She will attend Michigan State University and study Interior Design. In addition to membership in the National Honor Society and participating in Dondero's Marching Band and Color Guard, Laura was on the dance team and was active in the Spanish Club. Laura's mother is Jo Fetsco, a teacher at Kimball. Christine graduated Summa Cum Laude from Troy Athens High School. She will attend the University of Michigan to study for a career in biological science. She was a member of the National Honor Society and received the Scholar Athlete Award. She participated in Varsity Volleyball and Teens Taking Action. Christine is the daughter of Steve Lawson, a teacher at Northwood. At Walled Lake Western High School Heather distinguished herself as captain of the Pom Pom team, played soccer for three years, was on the golf team and sang in Choir for two years. She was also active in Spanish Club. She will attend Central Michigan University and major in Elementary Education. Pete Serenson, who teaches at Upton, is her father.
