Cadine has been a speech therapist in Royal Oak for 35 years.
During her career in Royal Oak Cadine worked with students at all
grade levels, preschool through high school. I got to know Cadine well 6 years ago when I joined the special
education department to teach a PPI Program. Most of the children in
the PPI Program had speech delays and Cadine worked closely with me in
the classroom. I enjoyed working with Cadine and I learned a great
deal from her. As a teacher I usually sought to have a “somewhat”
organized environment. Cadine taught me that it was important to build
surprises into the day - children talk more when something
unexpected happens! One of Cadine’s greatest strengths was her ability to see how
all areas of a child’s development are interrelated. Cadine was able
to help families relax a little even when their child wasn’t
talking. Cadine trusted in a child’s ability to grow and she helped
teachers and parents to also trust in that growth process. Cadine had always been interested in learning new things! A few
years ago Cadine took a course on designing websites. Cadine designed
the website for the ROEA and she is going to continue to do the ROEA
website after her retirement. Cadine also designed 12 websites in
connection with her husband’s business. So we can see Cadine is
planning to keep busy after her retirement. Cadine also enjoys
reading. traveling, and spending time with her family. Cadine and her
husband already have wonderful trips planned for the coming year. Best of luck to you Cadine and I will miss you in Royal Oak. Denise Nett |
