Mary Brown introduced Bercry Leas who began teaching in Royal Oak in 1969 at Barton Jr. High. She taught English, history and math. For 16 years she served as Reading Support Teacher at Addams Jr. High. Bercry chaperoned week long 8th grade camping trips, helped run the Friday night dances, taught the "hustle," directed the yearbook, sponsored the cheerleaders and ran all the pep assemblies. For the past five years she has been part of a 6th grade team at Addams Middle School. After having touched thousands of students, hundreds of teachers and many more parents Bercry will travel and spend her winters in Florida and summers in Royal Oak.
