JoAnn and Marty Sauer introduced each other.

Here's the text of Marty Sauer's introduction of JoAnn Khachaturian:

It gives me great pleasure to introduce my colleague and friend, JoAnn Khachaturian. JoAnn has been a government and psychology teacher for 33 years at Dondero. She has also taught English and French classes from time to time, especially French. She has always taken every assignment she was given very seriously and has done an excellent job. JoAnn has taught beginning French classes with me for many years. Her students were always very well prepared and fit right in with my students. She often helped the French classes with food days and foreign language festivals. I still use a café awning she made years ago for a festival as a table cloth with my classes.

But, more than the above JoAnn has been my friend for many years. Our sons spent so much time together that they discussed building a tunnel between our two houses. (We live in different cities) These two boys gave both of our families many fun experiences together. It was almost like having two sons. We even took her son skiing with us out West twice.

Along with our shared political and union activities we even shared many aspects of filling out our retirement forms together. It was so nice to have someone to discuss this with. There were a lot of decisions to make besides just saying you wanted to retire by a certain date.

JoAnn and I plan to continue our friendship into our retirement years and are looking forward to meeting for lunch especially when school begins in August. Having a friend and colleague like JoAnn has been one of the best parts of my career in R.O. schools.
