Joint Committee Minutes
March 25, 2004
Minutes - Approved the minutes from January 28, 2004.
Sick Leave -
Approved one request for Sick Bank withdrawals totaling 25 days leaving 20 days
remaining in the bank.
HIPPA - Approved form with new HIPPA language.
ESEA Committee - Agreed to structure of the
committee. Four ROEA members one
representative from each level and one special education representative.
Committee will meet prior to May 25. Focus of committee will be on
communication, portfolio development and AYP.
TSAs - Teachers may have up to two TSAs.
Evaluations - Sandra
and Barb will review the evaluation process and timelines with administrators.
MESSA - Approved MESSA costs
LAB
School
- Pending Board of Education approval, the district will offer elementary
non-tenured teachers an opportunity to participate in a three-week laboratory
school. Teachers will work with
small groups of students followed by professional development sessions.
Teachers will be paid for instructing and receive staff development
hours.
Summer School – Pending Board of Education
approval, both middle schools and the high schools will run summer school
programs. Positions will be posted
by mid-April.
Staffing - Staffing was reviewed as it relates to budget, student enrollment and
consolidation.
Highly Qualified/Certified -There has been
some confusion as to these two categories. Highly
qualified will become effective in the fall of 2006.
Certification issues are currently being worked on.
Seniority - Language was reviewed.
Contract Maintenance - Contract maintenance
items were discussed.
TTI Equipment - The district is proceeding
with its intent to extend the current TTI agreements under the existing terms
and agreements.
