In Attendance: S. Kardon, K. Pino, S. Gaynor, S. Standel, K. Cornell

  1. Approval of minutes of May 4, 2000
  2. SICK BANK: Approved 2 requests for a total of 23 days, leaving a balance of 146 days in the Sick Bank.
  3. STAFFING: Discussion of staffing issues for 2000-01.
  4. SUPPLEMENTAL PAY: Discussed an issue of how to pay supplementals to teachers on extended leave. ROEA will get more information.
  5. LETTER OF AGREEMENT: Letter of agreement with a teacher was discussed and will be shared with Joint Committee members.
  6. CERTIFICATION ISSUES: Criteria were discussed for Allied Health positions.
  7. MEDIA DEPARTMENT HEAD: Clarification of wording in job description.
  8. OTHER USES OF SICK BANK: Discussed options for people using sick bank for other reasons that personal use. The ROEA will work on language for this.
  9. TRANSFERS IN ELEMENTARY BUILDING: Discussed practices for transferring elementary teachers.
  10. TECHNOLOGY AND TEACHER TESTING: The intent of demonstration of technology skills is to allow teachers the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency so that they don’t have to take classes in skills they already know. It is not intended to be used in a teacher evaluations.
  11. STUDENT ASSISTANTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS: This probably is being worked on with the Middle School administrators.
  12. JOB POSTINGS: Everyone is reminded to check job postings regularly.
  13. OTC: OTC employees will continue to receive all salary and benefits to which they are entitled.
  14. JOINT COMMITTEE MEETINGS IN 2000-01: We will attempt to go back to the 4th Wednesday of the month.
  15. SICK LEAVE: Discussion of sick leave for one employee. This will be postponed until the next meeting.
